BSI demonstrates the business benefits of Kitemark to the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence

Business standards company, BSI, has recently welcomed influential visitors from the Abu Dhabi General Directorate of Civil Defence to its Chiswick headquarters and testing laboratories in Hemel Hempstead. Lieutenant Colonel Sami Khamis Rashid Almazmi and his colleagues visited BSI to better understand the impact of the Kitemark and standards in mitigating business risk and assuring the safety of fire products.

The BSI Kitemark for fire detection and suppression products is widely specified in the Middle East and is universally acknowledged as a symbol of quality, trust and excellence as well as being a Business Superbrand.
In recognition that the fire products industry continues to play an important role within the UAE economy the visitors were given in-depth insight into the stringent tests undertaken by BSI to certify and test fire suppression and detection equipment - including fire extinguishers, fire detection and alarm panels, personal protective equipment and emergency lighting products.
The group was also hosted by guest speaker Sir Ken Knight, the current HM Chief Inspector of Fire Services, as well as representatives from BSI who demonstrated the essential role of Kitemark and CE marking in facilitating European market access for fire and personal protective equipment products .
